“I hate being passed.”

John Krafcik, CEO of Hyundai, made this comment regarding a freeway speed duel with Bob Lutz, retired General Motors vice chairman, in a recent article from USAToday.com. His strive for being the best isn’t just geared to racing against other automotive icons. Since becoming CEO in 2008, Krafcik has guided Hyundai from number 9 to 7. Sales are up 23.8% compared to the first 8 months of 2009. He phased out the V-6 engine in the new Sonata and Tucson, opting for same power output, with higher gas mileage. And is hoping to have an average of 50 mpg for the Hyundai lineup by 2025.

Krafcik’s view on customer satisfaction is very similar to Lester Glenn Auto Group’s. Both strive for complete satisfaction. Similar to the Principals of Lester Glenn Auto Group, Krafcik has a very hands on approach to make sure customers’ voices don’t go unheard. He makes daily calls to unsatisfied customers, stating “It helps me understand how much more we have to do.” He goes on to say, “I don’t care what it costs, satisfy these people,” when referring to a letter he received from a Pennsylvania couple.

Lester Glenn Auto Group shares John Krafcik’s ideals. We strive to give every customer an experience unlike any other and want our customers to feel like family. We want to erase the stereotype of the “shark” salesman and trying to take advantage of anyone that walks through the door. Like Krafcik, we also hate being passed. It is our goal to sell great cars at competitive prices, but also to have complete customer satisfaction. Stop by one of our five locations and let us show you what the Lester Glenn experience is all about.
