Lester Glenn happens to have one of the largest inventory of Subarus on on the East Coast; large enough to leave Kansas (or Brooklyn) for a road trip to Toms River, NJ. Michael, a recent customer, was so excited about Baloo’s mutual interest in all things Disney that it was mentioned more than once during our conversation. Michael also felt good about his experience at Lester Glenn… and how could he not! Baloo was there to make things simple, helping Michael get all the bare necessities that come with a Lester Glenn purchase. Click here to see Michael’s testimonial.

In a business that relies on customer loyalty, Lester Glenn takes on this definition seriously.

Wikipedia partly defines a family business as a business where it’s stakeholders have a significant commitment toward the business’ overall well-being. In a business that relies on customer loyalty, Lester Glenn takes on this definition seriously. Take Ed and Nancy for example. This is their fourth car purchase at Lester Glenn Hyundai of Toms River. They know our salespeople by name and stop in sometimes to say hello. Like any good family, there is a mutual respect between all parties involved. “We’re like family,” Ed said during his testimonial. Ed isn’t related to anyone here. But if he’s treated with respect and is given a fair deal by people who are committed to the dealership’s overall well-being, then we’ve gone beyond just selling cars. Click here to see Ed & Nancy’s testimonial.

“It’s Vladimir Putin,” Kris jokes as he answers his cellphone in a foreign language. I’m sitting across from a man who I imagine has seen things I’ve only read in books. He’s lived in Germany, Canada and now the USA. J-Beats, a Subaru salesman who’s no stranger to Lester Who, approached me with the opportunity to film Kris, a customer who speaks fluent Polish. “What am I supposed to do? It’s not like Lester Glenn has a translator,” I said to J, concerned how this testimonial would end up. Luckily, Kris speaks at least three languages that I know of, one being English. As I waited for his call to be through, I wondered what we’d speak about. “So how does this go?” He asked in English. “Just speak about your experience today,” I answered, “and if you could let me know what you said in English, I’d appreciate it.” As he floated between Polish, Russian and English, a certain air of mystery surrounded us. I imagined him going on a secret mission in his Subaru; a Polish James Bond off to save the world in his new Sports Utility Vehicle. Click here to hear what Kris had to say.

I’m late. This is not good. How did I mess this up? I grab my camera, jacket and keys. Before leaving, I check my Google Calendar. There it is: the appointment I made with Candace. It was for a customer testimonial at 4pm, but mistakenly I chose the following Monday when scheduling a reminder. I arrive at Lester Glenn Hyundai in Manahawkin, shocked that she waited so long. “I’m so sorry that I’m late,” I said honestly. Although not thrilled with my tardiness, she’s a teacher and is used to having endless patience. Between my arrival and our scheduled appointment, Candace took the opportunity to unwind, have a cup of coffee and enjoy some alone time. We recorded about 5 minutes of film, but spent an additional 30 minutes just talking. Candace was no longer just a customer with a story. School teacher, mother, loving wife and proud owner of a Sante Fe. Did I mention she’s also a friend of mine? Click here to meet Candace, who claims that the color was the deciding factor.

I dislike asking people rigid questions, especially when I’m getting to know them. “So miss, how do you like the brand new car you just purchased?” Is not something Barb had any interest in answering. She most likely adores the new car. Her new 2010 Subaru Outback. I let her speak about it. She has dogs; loves them. She recently purchased a car but it wasn’t what she “really” wanted in the first place. Lester Glenn is the only place that would make the trade. Barb kept talking, uninterrupted by any interjection on my part that would force her into an uncomfortable corner. My belief: if you give someone room, they open up and you’re able to see real pieces of who they are. Here’s a testimonial where we’ve put those pieces together.

I showed him this other video shortly after and immediately, Dexter wanted to know everything about the Wolf Man. The Wolf Man is the Used Car Manager for all of Lester Glenn. I was visiting the GM dealership last week and he howled at me from across the showroom. “Get over here Squirt,” he said, “My man wants to talk to you.” Without the stability of a tripod, Dave (a new customer) and I recounted his experience with Lester Glenn and the Wolf Man.
