This past Sunday, Lester Glenn Auto Group had its annual company picnic at Frogbridge in Millstone. There were plenty of activities for the Lester Glenn family and their family members. But the most highly anticipated event was the Showroom Softball Showdown. Each Lester Glenn dealership fielded a team, including a team for corporate.

As the day went on, the field of teams narrowed until there was only two. The championship game was set. Lester Glenn Chevrolet would take on Lester Glenn Corporate in a three inning showdown. Corporate came out swinging and held onto a 3 run lead going into the top of the 3rd. That is when Team Chevy came alive, hitting home run after home run to secure their position at the top and take the trophy home. Congratulations to Lester Glenn Chevrolet. And most of all, thank you to all of the staff at Lester Glenn Auto Group and for helping us achieve another successful year.

Sports Radio 66, WFAN’s “Fantasy Phenom III challenge” brought to you in part by Lester Glenn Hyundai has narrowed its field to five finalists who will vie for the Grand Prize of a chance to host a once a week air shift on WFAN for one year. The finals of the “Fantasy Phenom III Challenge” will take place on Friday, August 24, at Bar A, Lake Como, New Jersey. The event will be broadcast live on the Mike Francesa program “Mike’s On” between 1:00pm – 6:30pm, on-air, streaming online at www.wfan.com, through mobile devices and simulcast on the YES television network. WFAN listeners are invited to Bar A to attend the event and watch the competition live. The five “Fantasy Phenom III” finalists are all local to the New York Metropolitan area and were chosen from over thousands of fans and loyal listeners who showed up at the auditions. Auditions were held at area Simon malls this July, as well as online entry.

Congratulations to the finalists: Joseph Giglio of Howell, NJ, a lifetime WFAN listener. Joseph graduated from DeSales University in 2008 with a degree in Sport Management. He is a New York Giants and Yankees fan, pursuing a full-time career in the sports industry. James Buzzone from Jersey City, NJ has made a living selling business software for the past eleven years, however his true passion is found in debating the sports issues of the day. James wants to fulfill his dream of going from caller to host on THE FAN. Patrick Creighton of Bethpage, NY is making his third consecutive appearance in the WFAN Fantasy Phenom finals. He is a graduate of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting, and a lifelong fan of the Giants, Mets, Islanders, and Knicks. James Flippin from Montclair, NJ is a 2010 graduate from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. He is a lifetime WFAN listener and is thrilled to be a finalist in the Fantasy Phenom 3 Challenge. He lists the “Schmooze” Steve Somers as one of his greatest influences. Dan Girard of Great Neck, NY is a 2012 graduate of Syracuse University and recalls his first memory of WFAN as a four-year-old listening to the ’94 playoffs of the Rangers and Knicks. He is a diehard Mets, Jets, Rangers, and Knicks fan and prides himself on keeping track of everything New York sports.

“We’ve already had two great Fantasy Phenom contests and in year three we’re just as excited about this year’s finals. It’s always a lot of fun and we’ve found some terrific talent,” says Mark Chernoff, Vice President of Programming at CBS RADIO New York and WFAN Operations Manager. A panel of judges, plus listener voting will determine the Grand Prize winner. Listener voting will begin at 6pm Friday and continue at wfan.com through noon on Monday. Everyone is invited to see the competition and the show in person. There will be live music provided by The Smithereens throughout the afternoon. Lester Glenn Hyundai will be displaying the all new 2013 Hyundai Veloster at the entrance to the event.

On September 8, 2012, Lester Glenn Auto Group will once again be in Long Branch for the FAAN Walk for Food Allergy: Moving Toward a Cure. FAAN stands for Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network.

Did you know that the original in-service date on a certified, pre-owned vehicle determines the length of time left on the factory warranty? This means that the date the original owner purchased the vehicle will determine when the warranty on your pre-owned vehicle expires.

Say you purchased a certified, pre-owned Lester Glenn Hyundai. You receive the remainder of the 5 years or 60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. If the original in-service date was July 30, 2007, your bumper-to-bumper warranty would no longer be valid. The same applies for the 10 year or 100,000 mile power train warranty. Using the same in-service date of July 30, 2007, the power train warranty would expire on July 30, 2017 (unless you hit the 100,000 mile mark before then).

So what does this mean to you as our customer? Make sure you get the original in-service date when you purchase a certified, pre-owned Lester Glenn Auto Group vehicle. Lester Glenn Auto Group is at it again! We are under construction at our Chevrolet location. We are updating our facility to make sure that our customers receive an unmatched car buying/servicing experience.

Many people have heard of OnStar which we happen to have available in our Buick, GMC and Chevrolet models at Lester Glenn Auto Group. But not many people are familiar with Hyundai’s BlueLink technology.  We want to change that.

Has your car been stolen? Don’t worry. Now, stolen vehicles have a lot better chance of being recovered. In the event a vehicle is reported stolen and a report has been filed with the appropriate police department, the response center can provide assistance to the police in an attempt to locate and recover the vehicle.
