Great car for what it is designed for.

Love this car! However, it's just a tad small for me and my uses. Backseat is tight for adults. Center armrest is weak--broke once. Dealer replaced it. Other than that, good reliable transportation with most of the bells and whistles....very safe car too, I feel.…
CX-3 Perfect for Boomer Empty Nesters

Volkswagen bought my diesel Golf TDI back so I started looking around for a car I could buy with the cash (I was willing to chip in the tax and fees). To accommodate the Colorado winters and the dirt roads we find every time we explore a new mountain trail, I wanted AWD. I am boomer-aged so no kids to worry about, just my wife and maybe the dog. In reality, I would drive the car mostly alone, perhaps with my golf clubs and push cart in the back. And I am very picky and like luxury features.
I live in a town where if you dont own a Subaru you pay a special tax. I already have an Outback so test-drove a Crosstrek. I went up the canyon and did not get very far before turning back to the dealership. That CVT engine is weak on hills and handles like a stagecoach. I decided to spend some time on research, where I discovered the CX-3 and its generally high marks.
I test drove the car after a decent snowfall and loved its AWD handling, not to mention the very cool interior. Two weeks later, I bought the car and asked the dealer to install the interior lighting kit and the soft cargo liner. If you dont know about the latter, check it out. A liner attaches over the rear seat headrests and fully covers the back of the rear seats and the entire back area (a clever use of Velcro). So, when you put the seats down, the entire carpeted area is protected. At the same time, there is also a section that can be draped over the bumper to protect it while taking things in and out. This is perfect for a middle-aged guy like me who hauls golf clubs and a push cart fairly regularly. Nothing in the car get dirty except for this easy-to-clean liner.
Enough on that - this is an enjoyable little car to drive. Plenty of zoom-zoom to keep it interesting, and an AWD system that is impressive in various conditions. I am an audiophile and find the Bose system satisfactory - better than most but not quite custom. The interior is stylish and comfortable. The seats hug perfectly, the seat heaters will toast you to a blush. The safety features (I have a fully loaded GT) will match any on the road. The first time your headlights automatically turn to bright will impress you, and the walk-away locking system is so sweet.
I am not so enamored of the Navigation system but have never had one I liked. At least the interface is attractive and easy to read.
Ive owned the car for just over a month in a stylish Front Range town. In that time, I have seen just ONE other CX-3 on the road. This I love, as seemingly every other car is a Subaru or RAV4 or CRV.
Its still new, but I love it and believe I will for years to come.…
Love my CX-3!

I had purchased a CX-5 in 2015 and was drawn to the CX-3 when it came out. I traded in the CX-5 on a Grand Touring CX-3. The vehicle is just awesome. It has finally given me a reason to drive for no reason, just to experience the excellent driving dynamics. No doubt about it, the car is small, so if hauling people or gear is important to you, look elsewhere. The styling, inside and out, is fantastic. I have so many people ogling it and asking what it is. I have only driven it about 200 miles so far, so I cannot rate its reliability. If you want an eye-catching vehicle that begs to be driven, this one might be for you. So far, I am loving every minute with this car and often go outside just to look at it.…
